The Horticulture Technician program offers a selection of courses through Part-time Studies, designed to respond to the increased demand for horticultural professionals. The School of Part-time Studies offers several of the Horticulture Technician program courses. Students may complete the Horticulture Technician program by applying to the full-time day program.

The diploma program features a hands-on component that provides students with the practical experience needed to enter a wide range of horticultural careers.
Through evening and weekend lectures and sessions, students will gain theoretical and practical experience in plant propagation, pest and disease control, soils and fertilizers, tree care, turf care and landscape design. Applied aspects of the program will be taught in the extensive garden labs of the Woodroffe Campus.
Upon completion of the Horticulture Technician diploma program seasonal and full-time employment opportunites exist in both the public and private sectors in areas such as nursery work and garden centre management, landscape renovation and maintenance, tree care (arboriculture) and greenhouse management.
Transfer of Academic Credit (Exemption)
If you possess qualifications beyond the entry level of your program (such as successful completion of another college, university or professional association course), you may be eligible for a Transfer of Credit (or exemption) from an individual course.
